 Scholarships
The Mathematics Department has a small number of scholarships to offer incoming students majoring in mathematics, (secondary) mathematics teacher education, actuarial science, or statistics. At this time, we are offering the following scholarships:

The Sharon Keutzer Scholarship ($1500): Sharon Keutzer is a 1966 graduate of Illinois State University with a B.S.\ in education with a major in mathematics. She taught in public schools for a brief time and then entered the business world. Her ISU mathematics education served her well in her work, which included accounting, office, sales, and insurance underwriting. She established this award in gratitude for the excellent education she received at ISU.
This award is intended to recognize an outstanding student majoring in an undergraduate major in the Mathematics Department and who is in their first year at ISU.
Awardees must be an incoming freshman or transfer student with a cummulative GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale or be in the top 20% of their graduating class.
There is only one Keutzer Scholarship award per year.

Mathematics Scholar Award ($500): These small awards are meant to recognize as many top incoming students as we can. As with the Keutzer Scholarship, awardees must be an incoming freshman or transfer student with a cummulative GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4.0 scale or be in the top 20% of their graduating class. We typically award four to six of these scholarships.
